GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) – Gwinnett County police have arrested a Norcross woman after they say she caused a deadly accident on northbound Interstate 85.
The collision happened on Saturday at 6 a.m. on I-85 north of Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth.
Police say 33-year-old Amanda Parker failed to maintain her lane and hit a diabled vehicle that was on the right shoulder of the interstate. The collission pushed the diabled vehicle back onto the interstate, where it was hit by a tractor-trailer.
A passerby was able to pull out the driver of the burning disabled car, but he died from his injuries.
Officials have identified the victim as 24-year-old Najee Clark of Lawrenceville.
Parker has been charged with driving under the influence and first-degree homicide by vehicle.
