The funds to New Mexico are in response to wildfires, severe weather and flooding that has affected that state beginning in June, the governor’s order states.

The Florida funds are in response to Hurricane Milton on Oct. 10 and its damage to that state.

In both cases the funding is from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund and used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs, the order states.

The governor confirmed in the order that all EMAC requests are reimbursable from requesting states and territories, and funds will be returned to the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund once received.
